Homemade Dark Chocolate (with peanut butter and coconut oil)

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Total time: 30 minutes

This homemade soft and creamy dark chocolate is a lot easier than you would think, and it has a lovely coconut and peanut flavour to it as well. Im showing a simple 4 ingredient recipe which is a great place to start with your chocolate making career and once you have the basics down, its very easy to start adding extras such as raisins, nuts, ginger powder ,coffee powder, coconut flakes, powder milk (for milk chocolate)you name it. I used peanut butter which has quite a strong flavour but if you want to opt for a less nutty flavour, try a cashew butter.

The 4 Ingredients:

- 2 1/2 heaped tbsp coconut oil

- 1 heaped tbsp honey

- 1 heaped tsp peanut butter (you can also use cashew butter or almond butter which have less nutty flavours)

- 5 heaped tsp cocoa powder

- dash of salt to help bring out the flavour (optional)

- pan

- wooden spoon

- tray of some sort for the choclate to set in (I used an old Ferrero Rocher tray I had)

1) combine the coconut oil, honey and peanut butter in the saucepan and place on the smallest hob you have, on the lowest heat. Stirring continously, heat it up until all ingredients have completed (this will happen very quickly in 1 -2 minutes)

********add a dash of salt to the mixture (optional)********

2) Once all the ingredients have completed mixed and melted evenly, time to add the cocoa powder while still continuosly stirring (#neverstopstirring), the powder should easily mix well with the mixture and within 30 seconds approximately it should start to look a lot like melted chocolate. Yay!

3)Now take it off the heat and immediately pour it into your tray of choice and place in the freezer to set.

4) Depending on your freezer, it should set within 30 minutes. Take it out and immediately press it out of the tray while it is still hard. Place onto a counter top and chop or break into chocolate pieces or leave it as a block.

*****Voilà, you have homemade chocolate*****

*****this type of chocolate melts easily so it is best kept refrigerated*****

- if you want a sweeter or more bitter choclate, adapt the honey measurement

- other nut butters can give the chocolate a very different taste. Peanut is quite strong , however cashew butter is a less strong flavour and a good base if you wanted to add other ingredients and falvours into the mix.

- examples of other ingredients to add: raisins, nuts, ginger powder, coffee powder, coconut flakes, powder milk (for milk chocolate)you name it
